Stronger performance with improved fuel economy\r
Increased towing capacity, revised styling and new features\r

Toyota has expanded the appeal of its sevenseat Fortuner SUV with more power and torque, better fuel consumption, increased braked towing capacity, higher equipment levels, easier parking and a freshened design.\r
\r
An upgraded engine delivers an extra 20kW of power and 50Nm of torque from Fortuner’s 2.8litre turbodiesel engine, lifting maximum outputs to 150kW and 500Nm.\r

The performance jump comes from a larger new watercooled heavyduty ballbearing turbocharger with a newly developed variable nozzle vane mechanism, as well as measures to increase engine rigidity, cooling and efficiency.\r

Yet the substantially higher outputs, applied to the road through a sixspeed automatic transmission, do not come at the expense of economy with fuel use cut by 11.6 per cent on the official combined cycle.\r

Handling has also benefited from a new variableflow powersteering pump that offers more assistance at parking speeds while delivering a more direct feel at highway speeds. A rear differential lock continues to enhance offroad performance.\r

Expanded safety features include the addition of front parking sensors that, along with the existing rear sensors, warn the driver of nearby objects.\r

Advanced Toyota Safety Sense technologies include a precollision safety system with pedestrian (day and night) and cyclist (daytime) detection, lanedeparture alert with steering assist, and highspeed active cruise control.\r

Design highlights include sportier alloy wheels and dark accents all around.\r
Cabin remains unchanged compared to the standard Fortuner trim.\r

The Fortuner TRD gets a host of cosmetic updates as well as additional features to go with it. The latest piece of development suggests that the upcoming Fortuner Facelift will also get a TRD Sportivo variant. Exterior Updates Seen in all Black Color with Red accents, the Fortuner TRD Sportivo comes with quite a few exterior updates such as TRD based front bumper, TRD radiator grille with chrome garnish, rear bumper spoiler with red accents and TRD logo on it and newly designed alloy wheels. It also gets cladding on the sides to enhance its sportiness to make it worthy of the TRD logo.\r

Additional Features As far as techs are concerned, features mentioned in brochure are already available in the premium Legender variant of Fortuner. The list of features consists of a larger 9.0inch touchscreen infotainment system, as opposed to the standard 8.0inch; a 360degree camera, tire pressure monitor, Headup Display (HUD), Wireless Smartphone Charger, KickActivated Boot Opening and a whole lot more. In terms of safety, it is expected to be offered with seven airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), ABS with EBD, brake assist, Hillstart assist control, emergency brake signal and much more. Apart from all this, the upholstery inside the cabin is expected to be made of more premium upholstery. The dashboard will also receive metallic accents as well as Wood Grainpatterned Ornamentation.\r

Powertrain \u0026 Transmission\r
The biggest update will be in its powertrain department. While the standard trim will be powered by a 2.4litre diesel unit which produces 150 bhp and 400 Nm of torque, the TRD is expected to get a reconfigured 2.8litre diesel engine which cranks out 204 bhp and 500 nm of torque. Current Fortuner 2.8 diesel delivers 174 bhp and 450 Nm.\r
